MODULATORY EFFECTS OF AQUEOUS EXTRACT OF XYLOPIAAETHIOPICA ON SOME PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS IN HUMANS
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background of study: Xylopia aethiopica is widely used in folkloric medicines hence there has been increased research on the plant to validate such claims. Fruit extracts Xethiopica shown have antibacterial, anti-diarrhoiec,hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic effects. However, are still many grounds be covered. There paucity data single dose effects X. physiological biochemical parameters.
Aim: two aims this research: 1) evaluate a blood pressure, pulse rate, total plasma proteins, creatinine lipid perioxidation 2) assess any –dependent relationship these Materials methods: Twenty male subjects with average 24.2± 8.9 kg/m2 were placed groups five. Blood samples collected, then varying concentrations (15, 30 45mg/kg) aqueous extract fruit was administered. After 45 mins administration, collected again. Total peroxidation determined all samples.
Results: The exerted significant decrease diastolic pressure only XE 15 group after minutes administration (p< 0.05). also increase protein relative control (p> A serum observed (P> levels groups
Conclusion: present findings further reiterated usefulness Xylopiaaethiopica treatment oxidative stress hypertension
